The growing season of 2016 saw a cool and rainy spring, which made vineyard pest management complicated. However, the typically Mediterranean summer was sunny and dry, providing perfect growing conditions for the vines. The slow ripening of the Sangiovese grapes allowed them to develop an unusually complex and well-balanced range of aromas and polyphenols.
The wine has a pale pink colour with a tint of onion skin. This tint is typical of rosé wines made from Sangiovese grapes macerated in the press rather than obtained by drawing off. The fine and elegant aromas range from floral to fruity (cherry and pear). In the mouth, the attack is refreshing and the finish is fruity and full of flavour.
